If you are considering the purchase of a new home, you truly need to have an agent who will be “your agent” - someone whom you can rely upon to be honest and to prioritize your needs in an effort to find the ideal home for you and your situation. Greg and Ericka Stephens are much more than knowledgeable and productive professionals; they are compassionate, patient and honestly interested in you. To justify that description, I must take the time to begin a story back in time. My journey with Ericka and Greg began in 2017 when my daughter Megan and her fiancé Daniel had decided that they wanted to live near Disney World which is more than 1000 miles away from her childhood home. The long distance search for a home was difficult at best; funds were low and dreams were glorious. As fast as the internet can be, it was not fast enough when investors were offering cash as instantly as a house was listed. Trying to help Megan, I noticed the name of a listing agent and told Megan that she needed an agent to be an on-site representative for her. I called the Stephens Group and Greg listened to a mother’s wish for her daughter’s dream to come true. He had all of the facts and recognized the difficulties that lay ahead, but he seemed to be as determined to find the ideal home for someone whom he had not met, as if she was his younger sister. Each evening, Megan searched online and called Greg with her ideas; and each bid fell through because of cash offers up front. Hopes were repeatedly dashed. There were times when Megan found affordable houses online that she really liked, and Greg advised her against them. In an effort to make this long story not quite as long - Megan and Daniel, with the guidance of the Stephens Group, finally closed on their home in February of 2019. They both were delighted and settled into the home that would, with time, become the tropical paradise of Megan’s dream. They both found employment they liked and in which they were successful. They married in the presence of many loved ones who traveled the distance to celebrate along with the happy couple. Day by day, Megan focused on creating the home that had existed in her mind for years while knowing that somethings would, for the time being, have to remain in the bottom half of her list. All was truly a dream coming true until September of 2024 when the worst tragedy of a parent’s life happened. Megan has always been overly kind and a wonderful human being, and too young to be taken away. She made me promise that I would continue to live each day the best I could. Her husband decided to sell the house and I supported his choice, but I could not let go of her dream home, a major part of her legacy. I did not need another home with its responsibilities, but to continue Megan’s dream to create her tropical oasis (and to help save the planet) was all I could turn to as a purpose for living. After five years without needing them, I called Greg and Ericka. I remembered their patient and dedicated support to help Megan against many odds, and they remembered Megan. Ericka and Greg went beyond any professional expectations. They handled everything, and provided guidance and compassion both to me and to Daniel who had to settle with his mortgage company.
